The coastal stretch of the Tuscan Maremma that goes from Principina a Mare to Talamone, and is limited to the east in part by the Via Aurelia, has become, since 1975, the Maremma Natural Park.

Itinerary

Day 1Arrival & acoommodation in Follonica

Accommodation in a 3-star hotel with half board. The hotel, located on the Tuscan coast, in the Gulf of Follonica between the sea and the forest, facing the island of Elba, offers excellent service and a quality restaurant. The city of Follonica, which stretches along the gulf of the same name, surrounded by centuries-old pine forests, beautiful and beautiful white sand beaches and crystal clear waters, is an ideal destination for lovers of exclusive and unique itineraries. Day 2Follonica-Castiglione della Pescaia:-Follonica

Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to Castiglione della Pescaia: medieval village, it is a popular tourist destination appreciated for its castle and its old historic center that dominates the hill, by the sea, the coast and its beautiful views.
3-hour guided walking tour in the Diaccia Botrona nature reserve. The Reserve is what remains of the old Prile Lake and has a particular and significant ecosystem. The avifauna is represented by more than 200 species.

Day 3Maremma Regional Park day trip

Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to Alberese and visit the dell’Uccellina Natural Park with guide. The vast area of ​​the Maremma regional park, more than 10,000 hectares, stretches along the Tyrrhenian coast from Principina a Mare to Talamone.
The park offers the opportunity to visit different places: from the typical Mediterranean landscape to the rocky coasts, beaches, dunes, swamps and rivers. There is also the possibility of participating in the work of the cowboys with their herds of horses and cattle, known as Butteri de la Maremma.
Free lunch (options to eat inside the park). Back to the hotel. Dinner.

 

Day 4Val di Cornia-Follonica

Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to the Val di Cornia. Guided tour of the coastal park of Sterpaia and Rimigliano: 10 km of beach facing a blue sea, a valuable habitat of forests and dunes.
A strong and robust landscape dominated by oak, pine and holm oak forests. Back to the hotel. Free afternoon.
